Inspired by: „We Never Sleep“ is the motto of Pinkerton Consulting & Investigations, a private detective and security company. It reflects their commitment to vigilance and round-the-clock service, a principle that dates back to the agency’s founding in 1850 by Allan Pinkerton. The phrase is also closely associated with the agency’s open-eye logo, which became a symbol for detectives in general, often referred to as „private eyes“.

Emmanuel Frémiet (* 6. Dezember 1824 in Paris; † 10. September 1910) war einer der bedeutendsten französischen Bildhauer des 19. Jahrhunderts und fertigte zumeist Tierskulpturen im Stil des Naturalismus und des Neoklassizismus an.
Mit seiner Skulptur “Gorilla entführt eine Negerin (Gorille enlevant une negresse)“ sorgte Frémiet 1859 für einen Skandal, weil die Figur im Kontext zur damals aufgestellten Evolutionstheorie von Charles Darwin stand. 1961 wurde sie von einem Ausstellungsbesucher zerstört. Für die “überarbeitete Version“ erhielt Frémiet dann 1987 eine Ehrenmedaille des Salons der Societé des Artistes Français. Die Figur war eine der Inspirationsquellen für King Kong.

Im Mai 2023 hatte der Song die Marke von 1 Milliarde Streams auf Spotify überschritten und ist damit der erste Beatles-Song, dem dies gelungen ist. Das Lied wurde von über 460 Künstlern gecovert.
